Student Interns
A Midwest-IAC student intern will gain experience in the following areas:
- Understand energy systems typically employed in manufacturing
- Communicate with clients, utilities and vendors
- Analyze utility bills and rates
- Conduct energy and waste assessments at small- to medium-scale industrial facilities with faculty and other fellow student interns
- Conduct energy analyses from onsite measurements and analyze potential energy efficiency measures
- Write professional-grade engineering reports, detailing assessment findings and recommendations for energy efficiency and waste reduction
- Project team coordination
Qualifications
Undergraduate Students:
- Junior or low senior class standing
- Majoring in mechanical or electrical engineering (other majors can be accepted if possessing appropriate skills)
- Must be at least one year away from graduation
Graduate Students:
- Enrolled in a M.S. or Ph.D. program preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering and/or having experience in computer systems with emphasis on cybersecurity
- Must be at least one year away from graduation
